Is your shelving a liability or an asset?

Nobody wants their shelving to let them down - apart from the sheer inconvenience of the matter, it could be costly. If faulty shelving falls off the wall, or collapses because it is overloaded or badly loaded, it may damage stock and could injure a customer or employee.

Shelving that is not designed for the goods it carries is a potential hazard, and in terms of loss of stock or litigation it can be a unwise way of trying to save money. It's a false economy to try to cut cost at the expense of safety, and it's therefore essential to replace damaged or faulty shelving as soon as possible, with appropriate equipment designed to withstand the load.

Shelving4Shops has many different kinds of shelving, and whatever you need we can help you to find the right kind for your requirements.

Our shop racking is made of heavy-duty, powder-coated steel. The parts are interchangeable, which means you have great versatility as you can configure the shelving to suit your needs. The units are standalone units, which gives you peace of mind that they are not going to part company with the wall!

The robust nature of the shelving makes it ideal to display a variety of goods, whilst the range of shelving gives a wide scope of usage, designed to fit any available space.

Ease of use is another major consideration, as dirty shelving is not an attractive proposition when the discerning customer wants to search for what they want. Our shelving is easy to clean and requires little maintenance.

If you are unsure as to which kind of shelving will best suit your needs, give us a call on 01455 2215 and we will be happy to advise you and give you an instant quote. Alternatively, visit our showrooms in Wolvey, Leicestershire, LE10 3JG and see for yourself the extensive range that we offer.

Supermarket shelving

The better weather often tempts people to spend time on outdoor pursuits, DIY projects, children’s entertainment for the holidays, or sometimes it's simply a good opportunity to update their own homes.  Whatever their needs, you will want to maximise on the opportunity for increased trade by ensuing that your goods are attractively displayed and easy to find. By grouping products according to type, you will simplify your customers' searching - but of course, to do this, you need shelving, dump bins, ticket strips and all the other things that make your customers' and staff's lives easier.

Our range of gondola supermarket shelving is especially versatile for creating aisles and maximum stocking space, whilst wall-to-wall shelving will use all your available wall space.

Gondola shelving is a free standing unit with shelving on both sides. It comes in a wide variety of sizes, which will accommodate just about all of your needs, and can be adjusted to suit any purpose.

For the less permanent and seasonal displays, dump bins or wire stacking baskets placed in strategic places will attract customers’ attention. Think creatively, and think colour! Even the more mundane goods can be made more appealing by using colour resourcefully. Placing this sort of display at or near the checkout area means customers can continue browsing as they wait to pay.

Over fifteen years of helping customers to find the right sort of shelving for their business has given us valuable experience, as well as the ability to help you find the appropriate storage solutions for your business as you attempt to meet the changing demands of customers.

Give Shelving4Shops a call on 01455 221512 to discuss your needs further, or call in to see the range of what we offer at our showrooms in Hinckley Road, Wolvey, Leicestershire, LE10 3JG.

Get organised!

While just about everyone wants a clean, tidy workplace or store, sometimes life gets out of control and mess just seems to happen. Customers arrive en masse, and what was relatively orderly descends into chaos. If they've had to search for the things they want, it isn’t difficult to see why they leave a disorderly pile of goods behind them - or sometimes not even a pile, but rather goods scattered on the floor! That doesn’t do much to encourage the next customer to browse or to get a good feeling about their needs.

Although it can be difficult to eliminate mess left behind by overzealous customers, organised and tidy shelving can mean that there is less need to sift through piles of goods to find the necessary item.
Our wall shelving can be put together to create a long run of space, where goods can be attractively and easily displayed, making it easy for the customer to find what they are looking for. Each shelf can be configured to your exact needs, whether the challenge is height, width, or depth.

One particular area that can become quickly untidy is the magazine display.  Customers leafing through the available journals and magazines can leave damaged goods in their wake if they can't replace them easily. Our magazine shelving makes life much easier as, once again, it's adjustable to meet your requirements. Eight angled tiers will make an ideal display for newspapers or magazines. This wall shelving can be supplied in three different heights, and can be joined together to create a well-organised run of goods. A wider base shelf, which can be adjusted in size, creates an ideal space for stacking the more unwieldy newspapers.

Although mess happens, it can be minimised by creating well-organised shelving facilities. It makes life easier for your staff, who can easily and quickly replace and reorganise the goods, and for your customers, who will be able to find the goods they want without creating quite so much confusion!

Give Shelving4Shops a call on 01455 221512 to find out how we can help you to create order out of chaos.

A new start

Setting up a successful and efficiently run store is not a walk in the park, whether it is a re-fit or starting from scratch. For it to operate smoothly, it has to be well-thought-out and well equipped.

Quite apart from the finance is the floor plan, which unless given plenty of consideration can lead to a major fiasco. To avoid this, part of the success will hinge on the right equipment.

If a store has not been purpose-built in the first place, it may well be an odd shape, but even if it's been planned from the beginning there often seems to be odd nooks and crannies, which unless carefully utilised will be a waste of space. Space equals income, when it is used well.

Maximising your store's potential is where Shelving4Shops can help.  Shelving4Shops is aware of the need for a good flow, to enable your customers to appreciate the full extent of your merchandise, and we can help you create it with the range of cabinets and shelving that we offer.

Buying used shelving can help your cash flow, although it does depend on what is available at the time you require it. However, because Shelving4Shops deals directly with the suppliers, we pass on considerable savings to our customers, making refits or new projects a more realistic and competitive opportunity. Our large stocks also mean that you can achieve a speedy turnaround if you are refitting.
Because we have had many years of experience, we can advise as well as supply your project, so if you would like to talk through your requirements we will be happy to help you.  Give Shelving4Shops a call on 01455 221512 or call in at our showrooms at Wolvey, Leicestershire, LE10 3JG.

Make a great impression with our pegboard shelving

Whether your available space is large or small, often the challenge is to find a truly versatile system that is cost effective as well as easy to use for the customer and your staff - and versatility is one of the key advantages of pegboard shelving. Adding shelves or extra hooks is simple, and will accommodate a changing display, keeping up with changing demand and products.
Pegs and hooks can be re-organised, taken away or added at any time, enabling you to have a display that can adapt to whatever you're supplying.
It doesn’t have to be just a practical expression of necessity - it can also be an attractive display, showing artwork or colour pictures and photos when you want to demonstrate something relevant to your product. The element of surprise is always a good seller, and by arranging your pegboarding with some sort of visual impact, customers will take extra notice of the things that you are selling. You can use colour or shape in an innovative way, whatever the product.
One of the advantages of pegboard is that it allows you to see a wide range of goods at once, meaning that customers can easily make comparisons. They can quickly see difference in size and colour, without having to spend a lot of time picking up different products to examine them. Customer convenience is always a major consideration.
Shelving4Shops supply pegboard wall shelving, and gondolas as well as end bays, meaning that whatever the need and wherever you want to put your pegboarding we have the ideal unit to meet your requirements.
Give Shelving4Shops a call on 01455 221512 to discuss your pegboarding needs, or call in at our showroom at Hinckley Road, Wolvey, Leics where we can show you the range of shelving that we offer.

The Versatility Of The Wire Basket!

In the world of retail, there are so many options of how to display your products that it's easy to feel overwhelmed with it all when it comes down to actually having to choose. One of the main things to bear in mind is to maximise the use of space and make sure your store doesn't look cluttered.

If you have lots of loose items that need to go somewhere together without spilling out onto other product space, wire baskets are a great way to go. Coming in either three tier or five tier, the wire basket units are ideal for items such as single crisp packets, fruit and veg or loose toys such as balls. They are great for display, presenting the customer with an easy, eye-catching view of the product, whilst keeping the items neatly gathered together. The unit is lightweight and easily moved, making them great for temporary or window displays. The stack is a simple way to use different heights to create interest at different levels, which is a great way to attract customer attention whilst saving space!

If you want just the baskets and have space to play with, our wire stackable baskets are another great way of keeping looser items together yet well displayed. These baskets come as individual units, but can be stacked on top of each other or used on existing shelves as a way of keeping the shelf tidy. They are great to use along the queue area to encourage impulse buys while customers are waiting. They are very versatile and are perfect for placing end of line products, promotions or sales items. Great for fruit and veg, special offers or for placing at the end of gondola units to promote that special product.

Shop window displays

Focussing on the need for shelving in your shop means sometimes that you can overlook the obvious - your shop window, which also needs shelving to attract customers’ attention.
Your shop window says a lot about you, as well about your products. Boring designs and flat colours will do little to stimulate a customer’s interest, whereas something that really jumps out at them as they pass will capture their attention, and encourage them to take a look inside your store. If you want your shop to be different and unique, avoid the predictable; try incorporating quirky and imaginative objects as well as the more mundane things that you stock. Humour can be a good selling point!
Products that have remained in the window for much more than a month will cease to stimulate interest. The more you change your window, the more people will stop to look.
You don’t have to be a talented artist to create a good display - just keep the display uncluttered, colourful and updated. Lighting at an angle will put focus on your products and will increase the visual stimulation, however lighting from above will create shadows, which will make your products more difficult to see.
Your products will need to be displayed on appropriate shelving or in well-arranged baskets, both of which we can supply. Wire shelving is especially suitable as it is easily transported and simple to stock. Being lightweight, it is absolutely ideal for a changing window display, and as it's free-standing it can be placed anywhere without the need for elaborate fixtures.
For more ideas as to how to equip your window with shelving and baskets give Shelving4shops a call on 01455 221512, or call in to our showrooms to see the stock that we offer.
