Reclaim your space

It can be very frustrating when you are trying to maximise the use of space available. The walls and aisles are taken care of, but when you get to the corners they present a different sort of challenge. They can be underused, or just seen as areas which are relatively useful for the odd-shaped things that don’t really fit anywhere else. You may feel that you have filled your store to its capacity, but with added corner space you can relieve the cramped shelving and create extra room - you can reclaim wasted space!

Shelving4Shops can help you to utilise these areas with well-designed corner shelving, making a perfect fit for the rest of your display. The corner units can also stop goods sliding to the ends of your conventional shelving and then falling to the floor, with consequent loss of goods and sales.

Often there is a random pile of goods, which doesn’t seem to fit any particular place; the corner unit is a good place to display these odd items, and transform them into something which is both interesting and useful. Our corner shelving units which can be supplied in three different heights, ranging from 1.8 metres high to 2.4 metres high, and the shelves can be adapted to suit your needs. So whether you want to use the unit in a larger or smaller space, it will fit and give you an ideal solution. The unit can also stand alone, though it will require legs to be added on. The units are easily cleanable, which has to be good, as corners are notoriously difficult places to cope with!

Your cramped corners can be given a life of their own!

Give Shelving4Shops a call on 01455 221512 to find out how to utilise and fit out your awkward corners with a neat solution.

Don’t let a wall go to waste

When competition in the marketplace is fierce, everything that you can do counts. Everything that you can sell is extra turnover, and everything that's displayed is something more to attract the customer’s attention and potentially meet their needs.

That’s precisely why every wall your shop has needs to be utilised and made into an attractive point of sale, without being cluttered or disorganised - which is where Shelving4Shops comes in. We can help you to equip your shop walls with exactly the sort of shelving that is going to do that for you.

Too much clutter causes confusion, which then means the customer may well go elsewhere because they can't find what they're looking for. Somehow a happy medium needs to be reached, with well-stocked but not overstocked shelves. Even when your store is not the largest in your immediate area, it doesn’t mean that it can't be the most popular. There is more to success than size.

Shelving4Shops offers a variety of wall shelving to meet your needs, and to make it simpler for you, it's all relatively easy to put together, as well as being easy to clean.

Our shelving units are available in three different heights, with shelf depths from 200mm to 570mm, and as they can be adjusted to meet the requirements of the stock that you carry, they will cover just about all of your needs! If you're looking for something different, contact us to see how we can help you maximise your wall space with an alternative solution. We have been in the business of supplying shelving for over fifteen years, and have become experts in solving shelving problems for our customers.

A helping hand

Whether you are an independent shop or a larger store, it can feel quite lonely out in the world of competitive trade. So many things need professional attention, and frequently it seems like the issues just can’t wait. Machinery requires maintenance, equipment is prone to breaking, tax forms need completing - you name it, it all needs to be done last week! Time is a precious commodity, and it can feel like it's in very short supply, which is why refurbishment and similar projects get pushed to the back burner. They just don’t seem to happen, because there really isn’t time to source everything you need.

Not only is time a big issue, but also where to get the best advice and products for refurbishment - and then there is the cost, which at first glance seems to be discouraging.

Shelving4Shops has been in the business of shelving for refurbishment for over 17 years, and from considerable experience can be a helping hand to any business, whatever the size.

We can advise you on the best way to equip your premises with relevant shelving, whether you want gondola style, wall shelving, stand-alone wire shelving, or peg boarding. If you don’t know what you're looking for, then we can discuss and hep you to decide the best approach for your business.

Shelving4Shops also carries stocks of recycled shelving, offering a cheaper option for many businesses, and at the same time lessening the impact of refurbishment on the environment.

So, you see, you aren’t alone! Shelving4Shops can help you in your planning stages and in the actual equipping of your store. We supply just about everything from the shelving to the baskets, from the cash registers to the hooks and prongs for shelves. Whatever your needs, we can help.

Give us a call on 01455 221512 for more information, or call in to our Leicestershire showrooms for a personal discussion.

Would change be a good thing?

Sometimes, life can seem a bit repetitive; year after year, summer following spring following winter, and business comes and goes a bit like the seasons.  Sometimes it seems harder, cold and bleak, then for no apparent reason trade picks up and it becomes hot and fast before you know it! There is the continual challenge of keeping within the law, regarding health and safety, labour laws, and everything else, but overall things can become pretty mundane. Would a bit of change be a good thing?

It could be that your shop premises have remained the same for a very long time, and if you're honest they've become a little tired and jaded. In fact, perhaps it's time you took a step back and gave the shop a long hard look -  what is it that's drawing customers into your store? Do you need to add anything to inject a little more life into your business?

One way to attract more customers into your shop, particularly in the summer months, is to add a refrigeration unit selling drinks and snacks.  Not only on hot days, but also on lunch breaks or for a quick bite, customers will pop in for a cool drink or a sandwich, and maybe linger to appreciate more of your merchandise which captures their attention.

Shelving4Shops can supply new and used refrigeration units to suit both large and small retail outlets. We offer a variety of cabinets, from multi deck chillers and bottle fridges to dairy cabinets and air conditioning. We've teamed up with a local refrigeration company who can advise you as to the best way forward to suit your needs, whether you want new or used equipment.

The used equipment that they supply is cleaned, tested and comes with a three month guarantee - it's a great cost-effective way of achieving just a little bit of change to bring fresh customers to your shop.

Give us a call on 01455 221512 to find out more about how you can implement change on your shop floor.

Today’s world

It’s fun looking at old photos - they show us how life was in the olden days, and whether things have got better or worse since is the subject of plenty of debate. One thing is certain; things just aren’t the same. Looking back at the shops of yesterday, we can see they were quaint and often quite sparsely stocked, but it didn’t matter because whatever you wanted could be brought in at a later date. The speed of the change has been quite alarming, and nowadays if you don’t keep up, you get left behind.
Customers have also changed. At the time the old photos were taken, popping round to the local shop was something of a neighbourly expedition. You frequently didn’t see what you wanted, so you ordered it, and then you waited for it. Today’s customer is not quite so keen to wait, and if it isn’t in your shop then they will go elsewhere, which amounts to lost sales and lost income for you. So how do you keep up with the demand and the pace of life today?

The answer is, put simply, keeping a larger stock and keeping a finger on the pulse of what's on demand. Larger stocks mean larger stores, but if that isn’t an option then you may have to take a long hard look at the way you are displaying and storing your stock. Have you maximised on the wall space? Have you made the most of your floor area? Are there wasted nooks and crannies where you could actually put in another display, to enable the customer to be confident in finding just what they want?

If you think that there is more potential for using your available space, but you aren’t quite sure how to go about equipping it, give Shelving4Shops a call on 01455 221512 or visit our Leicestershire showrooms with a floorplan of your premises. The extensive range of shelving that we offer can make the most of your property, and we will be happy to help you find the solution to keep up with customer demand in your store.

Innovation

Sometimes, your business can feel like it's in a rut; the same customers keep coming in and the same demands are dealt with. While it’s good to have loyal customers providing consistent sales, if new custom isn’t created then they could become a dying breed, especially as many customers turn to the internet and find convenience in having goods delivered to their door.

Somehow, you have to generate a way to bring new customers through your door. Maybe your business is an old well-established family business which hasn’t seen much change over the decades, or it might be that you have taken on old premises and not had the finance to bring about much in the way of change. Whatever the situation, there comes a time when it is right to think about refurbishment and change.

You may have had many ideas for updating your premises, but failed to find a way to do so without feeling unsure of the outcome. Innovation frequently involves taking risks, without which change cannot be achieved.

At Shelving4Shops we offer a versatile range of used as well as new shelving and equipment for any size store, from the small corner shop to the largest of supermarkets.

Having had over 15 years of experience of fitting out shops, we are in a good position to advise you and help you choose the right sort of shelving, whether you want wall shelving, free-standing gondola shelving, peg boarding, wire shelving, or dump bins, in order to bring your store up-to-date in today’s modern retail world. We can help you every step of the way from the planning to the fitting. To take advantage of our expertise, give Shelving4Shops a call on 01455 221512, or call in at our Leicestershire showrooms for a personal chat.

Time and space

One thing everybody has is space and time - the thing that sets us apart from each other is how much we have and what we do with it. We might spend a lot of time moaning about the fact that we don’t have enough space, and we might employ our time better by thinking creatively about how to use the space we do have.

If there is no possibility of increasing your ground floor space it could well be time to stop bemoaning the lack of it and start to think more positively. What is it that you want to achieve with the space that you have available to you? By being clear about your objectives, you can begin to work towards the goals that you have in mind.

One need might be to increase display space for a particular product, and to do this you may find that you can increase your shelving heights.  For instance, the 2.4m high wall shelving that Shelving4Shops offers might just give that extra bit of space that you need.

You can rearrange the shelves on our units to suit your product. Our wall shelves offer various depths suitable for a diverse range of products, and to enable flexibility the shelves can be rearranged easily every time that you want to change your display. The units of shelving can also be connected together to create one long run, which looks tidy as well as being an efficient use of available space.

Give Shelving4Shops a call on 01455 221512 if you would like to discuss ways in which we can help you to achieve more shelving space for your needs.
