Display Details

http://www.shelving4shops.co.uk/magazine-units.html

Appearance in a store can be the making or breaking of the business. Displays and window dressing reveals to a customer both what type of products you sell, but also what quality they are, judged on how good your store looks. Dress your store and display your products well and you’ll have customers flocking in- do the opposite and no one is interested.

The first thing to remember is that your store needs a theme. Mixing different styles and themes will look cheap, so keep your displays in line with each other. Though they don’t have to all look the same, you should make sure that one compliments the next. The theme or style of your shop should be dictated by your products- whether they are formal wear, so require a formal theme, or whether it’s a flower shop that needs a spring-like, light decor to compliment the flowers themselves.
Another thing to consider is “permanent” displays versus “moveable”! Permanent displays may be more practical, but moveable are more flexible and allow you to change up your decor and displays more easily. You don’t have to have any permanent displays at all, so think outside the box and use what you have to create something that your customers will stop to take a second look at.

Shelving4Shops have a great range of wall shelving to help you make the most of your wall space, which often goes unused, yet can look great while maximising on the space available. Using a bright coloured, feature wall can ensure your products “pop” - but make sure you don’t place products of clashing colours against a contrasting wall colour! You still want your products to look appealing, so make sure they’re well lit too.

Setting up a new shop can be a daunting task, especially when you’re carefully counting every penny you spend - you want to make a profit, so when you’re fitting out a shop it makes sense to spend wisely. One of the best ways to make savings is to use second hand equipment - providing it is in good condition, of course! You need to ensure your store looks shiny and new, but without the big price tag!

Shelving4Shops have a great range of secondhand shelving available to buy - and we can even help you fit it! You can come and view our great range of used and new shelving in our showroom anytime. We buy direct and remove the shelving from stores ourselves, so we ensure every care is taken during the dismantling process to make sure no damage occurs so you can rest assured that your shelving is in tip top condition.

We always try to keep a good stock of wall bays, gondola shelving, fittings and supermarket shelves, to name but a few of types of shelving we sell. We’re always happy to deliver across the whole of the UK, and we’re even happy to assist you in setting your shelves up, offering competitive installation quotes- just ask!

You’re welcome to pop by our showroom anytime for a cup of tea and a look around! The units break down into smaller components, so you can collect these yourself and buy direct from our warehouse.

Temptations At The Till!

http://www.shelving4shops.co.uk/components-cat.html

The till area is often a space that gets overlooked by store owners. It’s a crucial area to maximise on, being the perfect place to influence customers to make impulse buys while they’re waiting to be served.

When planning your store, think about how your till area will be laid out. You can use display units to form a queueing area, which then forces your customers to walk past and stand by your items. You can use gondola units, dump bins or peg boards to direct your customers while attracting their attention to your products and encouraging last minute impulse buys.

There are other ways to make sure your customers notice and are tempted your products as they walk or stand by them. Make sure you use colours- but use them wisely. Hues such as red and yellow are proven to draw the customer’s attention, but feel free to test out other colors depending on your product, audience and store colour theme. If you have items of many colours, try grouping the similar colours together to create an aesthetically pleasing display.

Use good, clear signage to make sure no one misses your products. Advertise your low priced and sale items using big signs and a bright colour, but make sure this doesn’t clash with the colours of the products. Try using brand colours, to tie in with your business.

Tips For Laying Out Your Store

http://www.shelving4shops.co.uk/peg-board.html

Sometimes it’s hard to know how to make the right decisions when choosing the layout of your store, but there are definitely a few rules to abide by to help your shop succeed.

When your customer’s enter your shop, direct them to the right to steer them round the shop in a counterclockwise direction. Research shows that shoppers prefer to move to the right and then in a counterclockwise direction, so design the layout to draw people right. You can use bright floral displays, a wider aisle to the right or place a large display for customers to navigate, with a clear pathway to the right and a smaller gap to the left.

If you can, lay your aisles out at an angle, rather than straight.  Ideally, aisles should angle in from both the right and left sides, meeting to form a central aisle, forming an arrow shaped layout that should end in a back-wall display. But only use this angular, directional approach if you can keep the aisles wide enough for customers to navigate easily and comfortably. No one likes a narrow aisle where they have to squeeze past other shoppers!

Make sure any long aisles have breaks to make shoppers pause and browse all your products. Long, uninterrupted aisles mean customers skip over most of your items, making their trip round your shop a quick and fruitless one! By adding breaks using movable and easily changeable displays, your customers will linger and be encouraged to buy more.
