Used Shop Shelving at Shelving4Shops

Whether you’re on a tight budget, having a revamp or you just need to sell your current shelving fixtures, we can help.

Here at Shelving4Shops, we buy and sell used shop shelving and equipment. We pride ourselves on providing a wide range of both new and used supermarket shelving in our large warehouse facility based in the Midlands.

If you’re having a revamp of your store and need a helping hand, we specialise in the removal of large shelving fixtures and equipment from some of the UK’s biggest well known supermarkets, as well as small convenience stores.

Our highly experienced team are on standby, ready to dismantle and remove your current shelving fixtures in a quick, but safe manner. We will work to a time scale that suits you best, even if you have a large amount of space with a limited time scale- we will work with you every step of the way to ensure the job gets done.

Purchasing used shelving units are ideal if you’re on a tight budget. Depending on the size and availability of the fitting, having used shop shelving can save you money. It’s important to consider the fact that used shop shelving tends to be quite large in size and deep in depth, so it’s important to plan your shop layout before making the decision to purchase used shop shelving.

If you need a hand planning your store layout, or just simply want to check availability, give our friendly sales team a call today on 01455 221512.

Why Buy Used Retail Shelving?

Used retail shelving can save you money and often provides all the benefits of new shelving with very few drawbacks. You can find a wide range of used and new shop shelving at Shelving4Shops, or request a specific type of shelving units and we'll do our best to source it for you!

Used shop shelving and racking can be almost brand new, or years old - it is generally taken from stores that are undergoing a refit or closing down, so in most cases is in perfectly good condition and will remain usable and durable for many more years. Sometimes used shelving will have a little surface wear - knocks and scratches and marks etc - but these are almost always superficial and will not affect the use of the units. It's very easy to make used shelving look smart and new; a thorough clean, adding lining paper or bright Epos strips and your second hand unit will look fantastic. For used shelving that looks a bit more beaten up, why not use it in your warehouse or store room?

You may find, of course, that there is little difference between the price of brand new retail shelving and second hand shop shelving, so you may better off choosing new. One of the only drawbacks of used shelving is that you may not be able to find an exact match for existing units or a particular brand. However, at Shelving4Shops we always do our best to source the best match possible for a cohesive and seamless look for your retail shelving.

Alongside used shop shelving we also stock a full range of new shop shelving and accessories, including:

·     Gondola shelving - Many stores choose to use gondola shelving due to its versatility and the range of widths and heights that we stock mean that it is perfect for every store. This shelving can be used to create aisles throughout your store and provide ample display room.
·     Wall shelving - If you have a lot of wall space then wall shelving is an excellent way to maximise the floor space you have available. We have a range of heights and widths available to ensure you can find the perfect fit for your store.
·     Shopping baskets - Placing stacks of baskets at the front of your store makes it easier for customers to carry more items. It can also help to have stacks of baskets around the store to encourage customers to pick up more items than they originally intended.
·     Wire stacking baskets - Using wire stacking baskets can be a great way to fill that empty space in the corner or that open floor space you have that is too small for a full bay of shelving. The versatility of these baskets make them a great addition to any store and can be moved regularly to draw customers eyes to new displays.
·     Corner shelving - The design of classic straight shelving means that often a corner is left empty or block off. The simple addition of a corner shelving unit can open up that corner and provide extra display space for products.
·     Peg board shelving and pegs - Not all products that are stocked will sit well on traditional flat shelving, pegboard shelving is an excellent alternative that can, with the simple addition of hooks, easily display hanging items.

Gondola Shelving for Warehouses

Gondola shelving isn't just for the front of your store - this versatile type of shop shelving works brilliantly behind the scenes for storerooms and warehouses, too! Gondola shelving units are durable and hard wearing - ideal for long term use for storing stock, whether it's on display or out the back of your store.

Shop racking and wire shelving are often used in storerooms and warehouses but wall shelving and gondola shelving work just as well - if not better - at providing heavy duty storage for products. Using gondola shelving brings many benefits to warehouse storage, for example:

  • Connect several units together to form a run or line of shelving
  • Reliable and versatile shelving with adjustable height shelves
  • Tiltable shelves for easy access
  • Insert Epos ticket strips so it's easy to find stock
  • Add end bays for additional storage
  • Easy to clean and maintain
  • Use the large base shelf to store heavy and oversized goods
  • Easy to stock and remove products
  • Available in different heights and depths to suit your storage space
  • Sort products with shelf risers and dividers
  • Can be re-used in the front of your store as required

Gondola shelving is perfect for a number of different shop shelving requirements, whether it's at the front of your store of behind the scenes in your warehouse. This reliable shelving comes in heights of 1.2m to 2.1m and depths of 300mm to 570mm and can be joined with other shelving units to accommodate any size shop or storeroom.

At Shelving4Shops we hold large quantities of used and new shop shelving and accessories, including:

· Gondola shelving - This is one of the most popular shelving choices we offer, it is a highly versatile option that can be used to create aisles throughout your store or can be used in conjunction with other shelving units we offer to create one seamless shelving unit throughout your store.
· Wall shelving - This shelving can be used around the perimeter of your shop floor to maximise your floor space and provide ample room for displaying items.
· Shopping baskets - Using baskets throughout your store encourages customers to pick up more items throughout their visit as they are not having to balance items in their arms.
· Wire stacking baskets and dump bins - These are an excellent way to display impulse purchase items and sale items throughout the store. As these are freestanding they can be used to fill empty space in your store and can be easily moved to create new interesting displays.
· Corner shelving - Utilise every inch of floor space you have by using specialist corner shelving to bring life back into an overlooked corner of your store. These units can be used in conjunction with our other bay units to create a seamless display.
· Peg board shelving and pegs -Not all products sit well on classic flat shelving, our range of pegboard shelving allows you to hang products to ensure they are displayed in the best way possible. All of our bays can be slotted together to ensure a seamless shelving display.

Huge New Stock of Second Hand Shop Shelving and Equipment!

Shelving4Shops specialise in the dismantling and removal of shop racking from larger stores. We also buy used shop racking from smaller stores but this is usually on a collection only basis. A store in Hounslow recently had to close its doors and the administrators were left with thousands of pounds worth of stock, shelving and accessories to dispose of. Not knowing what to do with the shop shelving they searched the internet and found the Shelving4Shops team. They soon discovered that not only did we pay for the used shop shelving and racking we would also come and dismantle and collect! It was a big task - a 10,000 square foot store to be dismantled in just one day!

The logistics had to be planned carefully; a fork lift truck strapped to the back of an articulated lorry was required and a crew of six would be needed. When the team entered the shop there was still stock being removed from the shelving. It was going to be a busy day so we started to dismantle where we could.

There were all sorts of shelving and accessories to be removed, not only the shop racking but also the dump bins, counters, hand baskets and trolleys. Used shop shelving, racking and accessories can be a great alternative for start-up businesses or a store having a revamp on a budget so the Shelving4Shops team were determined to get the job done and the lorry loaded.

Around 6pm we finished loading the vehicles with the used shop shelving and a very sleepy and battle-scarred crew made it back to the Shelving4Shops base at around 9pm. The vehicles were unloaded the next day by a very achy Shelving4Shops team and we now have a wide range of used shop shelving and equipment to offer new and existing customers at our Midlands showroom.

We were happy to help the administrators with their work and look forward to working with them again in the future. If you have a store that is closing and you have some shop racking or shop shelving for sale please contact us to see if we can help you.

As well as second-hand shelving, at Shelving4Shops we hold large quantities of new shop shelving and accessories, including:

·     Gondola shelving - A popular choice in many stores due to its versatility and functionality, gondola shelving is a staple shelving option for stores of any size. You can use this shelving to create aisles within your store and the range of heights and widths we stock mean that we have the shelving size for you.
·     Wall shelving - Use wall shelving around the edge of your store to provide plenty of shelving space while optimising the floor space you have available.
·     Shopping baskets - By having stacks of baskets at the front of the store and dotted around the aisles you will encourage customers to purchase more items as it is easier to carry them in a basket than with their hands.
·     Wire stacking baskets - These are an excellent way to display sale and impulse purchase items in your store. As these are freestanding they can be used to fill empty spaces and can be easily moved to create new interesting displays.
·     Corner shelving - Utilise every inch of floor space you have in your store by using specialist corner shelving to bring life back into an overlooked corner.
·     Peg board shelving and pegs - Not all products sit well on classic flat shelving, our range of pegboard shelving allows you to hang products to ensure they are displayed in the best way possible. All of our bays can be slotted together to ensure a seamless shelving display.

If you would like to know what type of second hand shop shelving we have in stock please call us on 01455 221512, visit our showroom just off the M69 at Hinckley, or email us at sales@shelving4shops.co.uk

What's the Story? Shelving4shops in Balamory!

Do your kids watch Balamory? You might recognise this corner shop from one of our recent jobs then... The old converted church which was used as a convenience store in Tobermory sadly had to close its doors last year. With no help locally, the Shelving4Shops team was called in to take away the used shop shelving and multideck chillers.  Being based in Leicestershire and having good travel connections all around the UK this was no problem. The winding roads of the small village did however pose a particular issue for an articulated lorry with a forklift strapped to its back! Permits needed to be granted to allow the large vehicle through the streets of Tobermory but our team was able to sort all of this for the shop owner so he had no need to worry.

A forklift truck was brought in for the heavy lifting and as you can see it was a bit of a tight squeeze through the old church door but nothing the Shelving4shops team couldn't handle...

As the shop had been used as a convenience store there were a lot of chillers and fridges to be removed as well as used gondola and wall shelving. The lorry was ready and waiting and the dismantling of the store took just a day to complete.

While it is sad that the shop had to close its doors, the new owners have decided to turn this beautiful old building into a restaurant and tea room, and so we wish them every success with the new business.

Second-hand shop shelving is available to purchase from Shelving4Shops. We are always on the lookout for quality used shop shelving so if you have a store closing and would like a quote on your second hand shelving, please send us some photos and details to sales@shelving4shops.co.uk. Alternatively, if you would like to buy used shop shelving for your store, please call us 01455 221512 and we can let you know what we have in stock.

As well as second-hand shop shelving we stock a full range of new shelving:
  • Gondola shelving - A classic choice for many retail stores, gondola shelving is a truly versatile shelving option and as it comes in 4 heights and 4 widths you can be assured you will find the correct size shelving for your store.
  • Wall shelving - Using wall shelving can save space and utilise your empty back wall! This shelving sits against the wall optimising your available floor space and allows you to have aisles that accommodate pushchairs and trolleys.
  • Promotional end bays - The best place to display your sale items is in the direct path of customers, not all customers are going to go down every aisle but they will walk past the end of them to reach other sections of the store or to get to the checkout. Utilise this prime space in your store by putting sale/promotional items in end bays and use clear signage to highlight great savings.
  • Corner shelving bays - Corners are often a dead space due to the shape of more popular shelving but the simple addition of corner shelf can open up forgotten space and optimise the floor space you have.
  • Magazine shelving - One of the biggest selling points of magazines are the front covers, by using magazine shelving you can clearly see the front cover and attract customers. These units can also be used to sell other paper goods where it is important to be able to see the front, like greeting cards.
  • Pegboard shelving - Some items do not work well on a flat shelf, pegboard shelving allows you to hang items allowing them to be viewed better. If you no longer need hanging space, shelves can be fixed to pegboard shelving to ensure you always have the best display options for your store.
  • Dump bins and wire baskets - This style of display can utilise a dead space of the store or can be used to create a section near the checkout so people know where to queue. Alternatively, use dump bins and wire baskets around the store to encourage impulse purchases or to promote sale items.
  • Shelving accessories - Customise your shelves to your store, from coloured EPOS strips to shelf dividers you can take any shelving and make it work perfectly for your store.

Why not look at our website for all of your shelving needs at www.shelving4shops.co.uk or call us on 01455 221512 and our team will be happy to help.
